VE Day at School / 青っぱなたれてないの？

K 's class ( Year 4) was learning about WW2 this term.

To finish off their study , they were doing VE day at school yesterday. Kids were invited to come to school with the costume around that age.

次男の学年（こっちで４年生・日本では３年生にあたる）では今学期、

第二次世界大戦のことを勉強しておりまして

その総仕上げでクリスマスパーティーをVE Day (Victory in Europe）スタイルで行う、

というもの昨日ありました。

子どもたちは当時の格好で登校してきてください、ということでしたので次男君はりきって

じゃじゃ～ん

コソコソ・・・

私の中で第二次世界大戦の子どもたちの格好というと

あの有名な青っぱなたらして大根をかじる子どもたち、というイメージなのですが

まさかそういう格好で登校させるわけにもいかず・・・というか、こっちでそういう格好させても

一体何のことやら？ですわね・・・

By the way, I've sent presents to my niece and nephews.

I've found lovely parse at my friend's shop at market to go with.

ところで先日編みあがった姪っ子の靴下と一緒に送った小銭入れ、

あんまり可愛いので写真撮っちゃいました。

I had long 2 months off.
While I was off I have knitted S's Birthday socks.

エエ～、長らくご無沙汰いたしておりました。２ヶ月もアップをサボってました。
その間編んでいたものは長男の誕生日靴下であります。

The socks above was for my S as his birthday was in September and the colour and pattern was his choice.

１１歳にもなると糸の好みもうるさいのでお店に一緒に買いに行きました。彼の選んだのはこの色。そしてパターンは前回次男に盗られた取られたハーマイオニーちゃんの靴下。

We went shop to pick his Bithday cake. This year, he went for the size, not footballer.

ケーキも一緒に買いに行きました。過去数年は我らがマンチェスター・ユナイテッド（サッカーチームですわ）の飾りひと筋だったのに、今年は「大は小を兼ねる」志向へ。食い気が勝ったか・・・

Hermioni's Everyday Socks

Zookeeper / 映画の日

First in the morning, as kids requested we went to watch "Zookeeper"

We specifically went to watch the one starts 9.40am to avoid big ques.

.....we didn't have to worry about it, it was only 5 people in the Studio 5 ( including us)which holds about 150 people.

 朝一で子供たちが観たがってた映画『ズーキーパー』観に行ってきました。

映画館込んでたらイヤだしね、って

いちいち朝９時４０分の上映ぶんを狙っていったら

混むどころか、私たち含めて５人だけ。

中途半端な貸切感覚。

混まなくってよかったけど笑ってしまう私の声だけが響くのは

おそらく連れの子供的にも・・・・・ハズカシイ

１５０人程度収容できるちっさな放映室だったんですけどね

ケビン・ジェームズは安心して子供と観れるからマル！

I fed kids at Burger King.

They've realized the kid's menu do not satisfy their endless hunger

so no more £2.99 per person.

They demand more satisfactory sized meal. grrrr

映画の後はバーガーキングでバーガー昼食。

おもちゃにだまされて子供セットに飛びつく時代は過ぎ去った為

もはや一人頭￡２．９９ではなくなる。

彼らの底なしの食欲を補う為、セットもラージで、と注文が。（はあ）

On the way back, we took short cut.

They managed self served some afters.

帰り道は近道をして

ブラックベリーを各自採食し自前デザートとする。

K let S pick berries for him, naturally.

次男は摘むのも長男任せである。

Good Stuff / こりゃいい

I might mentioned before but I host language students. Some students give us some local products of their town / country and this time, I've got these from Slovakian student who got here yesterday.
ワタクシの内職は語学学生対象の下宿屋でありまして、ときどき学生から出身地の特産品などをいただくことがあります。夏は２・３週間ごとに学生が忙しく入れ替わるのですが、昨日ご到着のトマス君(１４歳　スロバキア人）より彼の町のお土産をいただきました。

He told me that use this basket to put some bread etc, but no no no, I've told him that there is much better way of use .

Yes, as you've guessed.....

彼曰く、「バスケットはそうね、パンやお菓子など入れて下されば結構」

いやいやいや、もっといい使い方を思いついたのだよトマス君。

 rest my yarn and knitting needle

糸と針がちょうど納まる大きさ！

When I knit at home ( mainly socks )I always wonder where to rest those a couple minutes to do some other housework , or make a cup of tea. I can move about with this litte basket or put it on the side of my seat. yeee-ha!

そのですね、家の中で編んでるときって(主に靴下ね）ちょっと家事をしに立つときとか、編みかけのものを置いとく場所に困ってたんですよ。これならまとめてもって歩けるし(片手に毛糸球、片手に編みかけもものじゃなくってね）、横において編んでて散らばらないし・・・犬の毛つきにくいし・・・

Another thing I was glad yesterday

昨日、もういっこ嬉しかったこと(親ばか系）

While I popped out for little shopping it started rain. My washing was still outside on the line and I thought it would be all soggy and wet when I back home.

But Oh no, my little soldiers took all in as soon as it started rain.

even they attempted to fold them nicely for me.

What a thoughtful boys.Love them to bits.

ちょこっと買い物があったんで出たところ、途中で大雨が降り出しました。

ぁ～干しといた洗濯物、帰るまでに濡れちゃってるわ～と思って帰ってきたら

息子たち、取り込んでてくれました。

しかも頑張ってたたんでくれてた。(シーツ類だよ！）

母ちゃん、感無量。

Summer Cold / 夏風邪

I have no idea why on earth I've managed to catch cold at middle of summer. However I did. Its quite annoying as neck down feels perfectly alright and I have healthy appetite, but just my brain feels like rapped around with cotton wool and feels heavy. feels like my head doubled it size and wobbling on my neck.
 一体全体どういうわけか真夏に風邪引いてしまいました。クビより下はものすごく普通体で食欲も良好なのですが、頭が綿に包まれているようで・・・しかもやけに重くって普段より２倍ぐらいの重さがあるような・・・クビの上にすわりが悪くってグラグラしている気がする。でも熱もないから普段どうりの活動を強いられてます。(ダレに？だれも何も言ってないじゃん）

Anyway, it was rain all day yesterday and it doesn't look good today neither. I was and it doesn't look good today neither. I was going to do my knitting but my sons were bored, wanted to do something new.
They found the book "Stitch Dictionary" and keep telling me if they could try.... oh well , why not? so we went to get some cloths for them this morning.

まあその件は置いときまして、昨日はやけに天気が悪く一日雨、なんて珍しい日でした。今日もなんだか曇り空で、体力のあまった息子たちが何か新しいことをしたい・・・といろいろあさった挙句、見つけ出したのが「ステッチ・ディクショナリー」。
『お母さん、コレしたい、コレしたい、コレしたい、したいんだよ、したいんだってばいつできる、いつできるのさ、ねえ、これからできる？これからしたいよ～、ねえこれから絶対したい』ってうるさいから朝からクロスを買いに行ってきました。・・・・・歩いてね。(体力消耗して頂かなきゃ、アナタ。）

 It was on sale./　ハイ、コレもセールで買いました。

All they wanted to do is try some of the stitches.

何を作りたい、というわけじゃなく

ただいろんなステッチを試してみたかっただけだそうで・・・・いえ、いいのよ。

I thought I will be able to go back my knitting once they started their stitching, but oh no. I had to show knitting once they started their stitching, but oh no. I had to help to get it going .

ああ、これで編み物できるわと思ったらそういうわけには参りませんでした。

『好きなように刺しなさい』といったものの色を選ぶお手伝いとか、

相談事が多くてね。(いえ、いいのよ。）

By the way, this is the medicine I'm taking. Tastes horrid and very strong, but at least it works.

ところで、これが飲んでる薬。まっず～いんだ、これが。

Apple and Blackberry Pie / ブラックベリー（キイチゴ？）とりんごのパイ

My loving husband came back with lots of blackberry yesterday, so its pie making day. I did have my niece this morning but had enough photo of her the other day already for this week, I just took her dog's photo as I dropped her off at hers.


うひょっ。昨日ダンナがブラックベリーをたくさんもって帰ってきました。だから今日はパイを焼く日に決定。
予約どおり、午前中おじょーちゃん子守だったのですが今週分の写真はこないだタンと撮ったので、今日はおじょーちゃんなし。（おじょーちゃんファンのかたすみませんねえ）
代わりに、おじょーちゃん送っていったついでにお犬様の写真撮ってきました。

First appearance, Nando / 初登場、ナンド君。

At his garden / ナンド君ちの庭だよ。

At park near his house　/　ナンド君ちの近所の公園。

（母君がおじょーちゃん寝かせる間に散歩させたの）

Then, pie making starts.

おじょーちゃんご帰宅後パイつくり開始。

 I was going to use 3 apples, but ending up using 5 of use 3 apples, but ending up using 5 of them

りんご（調理用）は３個にするつもりだったけど結局５個投入

 Cut Cut, chop chop　/はいはい、切ってください。

 Didn't add any water but lemon juice and sugar

水は加えず砂糖とレモン汁を一個分。

cooked apples with gentle heart

りんごを弱火でことこと煮て、

 Mix with blackberries

ブラックベリーと混ぜます

 Put it in the shape　/　パイ生地をしいた皿に入れて

 In 30 minutes! / 30分で、焼き上がり！

 with left over pastries. / おまけ達。

 Made another one with left over fillings./ フィリングが余ったからもう一個焼いちゃう。

Served with cream /　生クリームを添えて夕食後にいただく。

We still have another pie for tomorrow, ho-ho-ho

ウヒヒ、パイ、もう一皿あるから明日のおやつだ～。

Summer Holiday Day 1 / 夏休み一日目。

Yes, its only Day 1 , and its still in the morning.

まだ一日目。しかもまだ午前ちう。（疲）

I've cut boy's hair so I'll up the photo.

ワタクシ、子供の髪の毛をカットしましたので。(バリカン使用でっす）

I've saved ￡２２．

しめて２２ポンド節約なり。

Tower / バランス勝負だ。

All of sudden, kids start some strange competition.

This time, its "which one is higher"

子供さんたちは突然新しい遊びを思いつき、

しかもその競技（？）で競い合ったりするから・・・

Obviously S lost, but he's Happy enough.

長男、負けは一目瞭然だけど楽しそうだから、良し。

I had quite busy week and I had my niece all day today . As I've done all choir I went to the garden and I saw my cat comfortably resting in niece's push chair.

....what a hard life she has, doesn't she....

先週は何かと忙しく、（運動会とかもあったしね）バタバタしてて

今日もおじょーちゃん一日預かってたのでおじょーちゃん帰ってから夕飯作るのに急いじゃって

ああ、洗濯物を取り込まなくっちゃと外に出ると・・・

長老、いい生活されてますなあ・・・

いえ、いいのよ、長老なんだし。

Uncle K and his niece / 次男は『おじ』にあたるんだった。

Took her to get kids from school. She was in her pushchair, but insisted to take K's hands.

子供のお迎え行った帰り道。おじょーちゃん次男をいたくお気に入りのショゾウ。

They walked back ( well she was  in her pushchair and I was pushing ) like this almost whole the way.

おじょーちゃんご満足で、ほぼすべての道のりをこうやっておうちに帰る・・・
ちなみにおじょーちゃんはバギーに座ってて私が押してる。
（・・でも彼女は次男と一緒に歩いてるつもり・・・）

Good day / 良い日ダッタワ

My second son was invited to one of his friend's Birthday party this afternoon. They were organising some activity at park . It was so nice to be out. I stayed there carried on kitting ( his socks) till they finish the party.

 今日の午後は次男のお友達の誕生パーティーがありましたので連れて行ってきました。サッカーとかドッジボールとかするらしくって公園で開催。

I watched it from distance... from under the tree.... it was hot day you know....

遠くからパーティー見物。ダッテ暑カッタカラ木陰ガヨカッタノ。

Yes I was knitting too. /　チョビッとまた編んじゃう。（かたっぽは昨日編めたのよ）

By the way, I've never seen people playing Vally ball outside in the park, but today I did.

ところで、今日は見慣れないもの見ました。

なに？『草バレーボール』？？

After that, I took kids to the lake where my OH's fishing ( till tomorrow).

そんで、その後ダンナが（明日までの予定で）釣りに行ったみずうみに子供たちを連れて行って遊ばせました。

....動いてたおかげで頭痛も肩こり（昨日の自転車の副作用）もいつの間にか消えてて良い日でしたわ。明日は子供つれて「Fast and Furious 5」（邦名；ワイルド・スピードらしい）を観に行く予定で私もワクワク。
